Was the curlew in takeoff or landing? Either way, great shot.
Excellent shots as always Adam 🙂
I now realize I need to go back to my miscellaneous waterfowl and double check the IDs. The Scaup you captured looks familiar and I either mis-IDd it or left it unknown.
I wonder if that building will be done in time for the swallows return.
So many great birds and LOVE your photos . . as always! Keep up the great work!
What a wonderful birdy day you had, Adam. So, they are finally renovating the visitor center. It is the visitor center, right? I really LOVE that long-billed curlew in flight with its mouth open. That was cool!
Beautiful images Adam, thanks for sharing these great shots, I really like the low tide shot as well !!
Scienceguy: Had taken off, was flying to a new landing place, so both 🙂
Red: Thanks! Misc waterfowl can be rather difficult to ID for sure. The under-construction building is the old, formerly abandoned, Palo Alto Yacht Club building, not the interpretive center where the swallows nest.
Monarch: Thanks!
Mary: Nope, per my comment to Red (above), it’s the old direlect yacht club. The Visitor Center is pretty sorry too (and hardly ever open when I’m there).
Bernie: Thank you.
