I’ve not been out birding in a good many weeks, having been busy with other stuff and getting caught up on photo editing, but I found a couple of hours today after work to swing by the Baylands to see what’s there right now.
It turned out to be a VERY high tide, and there was little around. I was hopeful that the high tide would flush some Clapper Rails, but 20 minutes of looking in the grasses by the interpretive center yielded nothing.
Today’s list is:
– American Avocet
– Barn Swallow
– Black-necked Stilt
– Brewer’s Blackbird
– Brown-headed Cowbird
– Bushtit
– Canada Goose
– Double-crested Cormorant
– Forster’s Tern
– House Finch
– Mallard (incl. many juvvies)
– Mourning Dove
– Red-winged Blackbird
– Ring-billed Gull
– Ring-necked Pheasant
– Rock Pigeon
– Ruddy Duck
– Scaup sp.
– Song Sparrow
– Western Gull
– Willet
Ho hum, hopefully some fall migrants will start showing up soon!
